The Friendship Bell in San Pedro, California

As the historical commemoration of Cesar E. Chavez passes on, we're able to recognize another type of Social Justice cause for Unity with the Republic of Korea and the United States of America as an end to the Korean War of the 1970s. The Friendship bell is used as a celebration of the bicentennial of the U.S. independence, honor veterans of the Korean War, and to consolidate traditional friendship between the two countries. When the bronze bell was donated by Korea and is struck five times a year: on New Year's Eve, Korean American Day (January 13), the Fourth of July, Korean Liberation Day (August 15), and Constitution Day (September 17). The 41 year dedication of this friendship bell will be on October 3rd, 2017.
