What to Wear: Spring Fashion

By Saray Mendez

Chanel's Spring/Summer 2015 Couture Paris Fashion Show was full flowers, long, knee length shirts, and crop tops. It looked as though Karl Lagerfeld (creative director of Chanel) had raided a young girls' closet and added the signature Chanel tweed jackets and mixed them with crop tops, circular skirts, and a few pieces of sheer clothing. The flowers and subtle colors, an obvious symbol of the spring/summer seasons, intertwined perfectly with the juvenile look he was trying to achieve. It is clear Lagerfeld wants appeal to a much younger audience as he has used models like Cara Delavigne and even Kendall Jenner in numerous runways; he wants to stay relevant to the younger audiences and in pop culture. He does a great job of coming up with new ideas in the works yet still maintaining Chanel's signature look. Although, it is tough for a name like Chanel to ever be forgotten what Lagerfeld does is ingenious and will only reinforce the name in popular culture.
